When I want to assign a new annotation, one that does not exist yet, I click 'add new item'

I then create the node, and save.

But the new node is not (visually) assigned to the slot of the class in the context of which I was doing that.

It is also not immediately listed among the items in the drop down. I need to play with the drop-down first (enter and remove text) to make it visible and selectable at the very bottom.

I think a newly created item, created in this context, should be assigned to the slot immediately.
