Maybe not exactly the right slot, but two recent use cases/actual queries come to mind:

report on "Early career researcher with self-acquired funding or competitive grants"
a very vague "how many scientists work in INM-7? How many young scientists work in INM-7?" question (this was answered based on the following information: kind of contract (scientific versus admin, Düsseldorf versus Jülich), degree pursued (BSc, MSc, PhD students), and time since PhD (less than a year since the PhD was acquired counted as young scientist as well)
